How can Prince George's County schools use their local environment to lead efforts in saving the Bay and addressing climate change? Come spend five days in the field with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation investigating watersheds, ecosystems, and their integration with environmental justice, regenerative agriculture, and climate change. Explore the vast resources in Prince George's County that can help you create lessons to elevate student voice and engage your students in hands on learning. Work with other course participants to explore and implement a seamless immersion of inquiry, student voice, and climate action into your existing curriculum.

Length & Location: Five days of collaborative, outdoor exploration in the urban, forested, and agricultural lands of Prince George’s County, MD by boat, canoe, and on foot.

Course Credit: Upon successful course completion, Maryland teachers are eligible for 3 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits from MSDE. Graduate credit is also available and requires additional forms and fees. See details on the Professional Learning Credits page.

Orientation Date: Attendance at one virtual orientation is required prior to the course. Orientations are hosted at 7 p.m. on May 22, June 12, and July 24. Meeting links will be provided.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made before June 1 will receive a full refund minus a $75 processing fee.
