Event Details

REGISTRATION REQUIRED
This adult education course runs for five weeks, on Thursday evenings from October 6 to November 3.

Registration Deadline: October 5, 2022

CBF created the VoiCeS (Volunteers as Chesapeake Stewards) program in 2004 as a way to reach out to local community members and create a deeper understanding of the Bay and the efforts to restore it. Become a more knowledgeable advocate for the Bay as we explore topics including:

  • urban agriculture,
  • wildlife,
  • wetlands,
  • fisheries,
  • urban and rural solutions to pollution,
  • diversity in environmental fields,
  • local restoration,
  • citizen advocacy, and more!

There will also be at least one field trip through the program. At the completion of the program you will be inspired to complete a 20-hour service project of your own choosing and timeline, which will earn you the CBF Chesapeake Bay Steward certification. Come join us at the Newsome House Museum and Cultural Center in Newport News!

Suggested donation (not required): $25/individual, $40/couple

We suggest that attendees at indoor events be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are not fully vaccinated, we strongly recommend that you wear a mask.
