Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for an engaging talk on menhaden science and policy.
Menhaden, also known as bunker, are small, filter‑feeding fish that play a crucial role in the Chesapeake Bay. Often called “the most important fish in the sea,” they provide key nutrients to predators, form the foundation of the Bay’s food web, and support coastal communities.
This discussion will explore why menhaden matter, the pressures they face, and how you can help protect this keystone species.
Please join us for a pre-event reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres. The program will then begin at 6:30 p.m.
Location and parking: This event will take place at the Patagonia Old Town. Parking available at street-level metered parking (free on Sunday), nearby parking garages, and limited free street parking a few blocks away
