Join us for a unique fishing tournament that focuses on restored oyster reefs throughout the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. (For fishing locations see our map of restored oyster reefs in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay and tributaries.) This tournament is a bit different. We're celebrating species biodiversity and the return of some of the great reef species that we've been missing. Prizes will be awarded for how many species you catch. In the event of a tie, the total length of fish caught will declare the winner. Past Rod & Reef Slam tournaments have resulted in as many as 16 different species being caught in one day. How many can you catch?

Anglers who catch the largest number of species will win our grand prize. First, second, and third place finishers in each division (powerboat, kayak, and youth) will also receive prizes. We will also have an Invasive Species Division winner for the person who catches the largest three-fish stringer of Northern snakeheads, blue catfish, and/or flathead catfish.

Divisions:

  • Powerboat: The Powerboat division is included in the general entry cost, and each angler on the boat is judged as an individual. There are no teams in this division.
  • Kayak: The kayak division is included in the general entry cost, and each vessel is judged on an individual basis. Kayak anglers will compete only with other kayak anglers.
  • Youth: Youth aged 17 and younger. Each angler is judged on an individual basis.
  • Invasive Species: The invasive species division in included in the general entry cost. All anglers participating in the Powerboat, Kayak, or Youth divisions are automatically entered in the Invasive Species division.

The tournament entries will be collected throughout the week via the iAngler Tournament mobile app and will be judged throughout the week by tournament directors. Once registered, you will receive a coupon code to complete your registration through the iAngler Tournament app. Download the app at the Apple Store for iPhone or Google Play Store for Android.
