Join us for a unique fishing tournament that focuses on restored oyster reefs throughout the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. This tournament is a bit different. We're celebrating species diversity and the return of some of the great reef species that we've been missing. Prizes will be awarded for how many species you catch, and then how big your fish are. Past Rod & Reef Slam tournaments have resulted in as many as 16 different species being caught in one day. How many can you catch?

Anglers who catch the largest variety of species will win our grand prize. First, second, and third place finishers in each division (powerboat, kayak, and youth) will also receive prizes. We will also have an Invasive Species Division winner for the person who catches the largest three-fish stringer of Northern snakeheads and/or blue catfish.

See our official Tournament web page for details.

AFTER-PARTY AND AWARDS CEREMONY

Can't make the tournament but want to join us to celebrate our winners? After-party tickets are available for purchase. Registration includes food, drinks, and live entertainment from Swamp Donky Newgrass. Partners will also be on hand to discuss their restoration work and how restored and enhanced oyster reefs create diverse ecosystems. Don't miss this party on the beach!

Many partners have worked together to build these reefs, including the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office, the Army Corps of Engineers, Coastal Conservation Association Maryland, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Oyster Recovery Partnership, and Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

This Rod & Reef Slam Tournament is supported by the Chesapeake Oyster Alliance, a coalition of more than 70 nonprofits, oyster growers, academic institutions, and businesses working toward a goal of adding 10 billion new oysters to Chesapeake Bay waters by 2025.
