Join the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Richmond Parks and Recreation for a community tree planting at Libby Hill Park!

Volunteers will help plant approximately 50 native trees to support a healthier, greener Richmond. Trees play a vital role in cooling our city, improving air and water quality, stabilizing soil to reduce erosion, and helping to absorb carbon emissions.

No prior experience is necessary—we’ll provide all tools, gloves, and instructions. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle. Be sure to register in advance so we can bring the appropriate number of tools and supplies.

Please note that volunteer spots are limited. If your schedule changes or you are unable to attend for any reason, let us know as soon as possible so another volunteer can participate in your place.

Funding for this tree planting is provided by the Conserve the Future Fund at the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond and supported by the Church Hill Association.

We’re committed to making our events accessible to everyone. If you need any accommodations to participate, please reach out to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We will do our best to meet your needs.
