Online sessions will be held on four consecutive Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. EST (April 18, April 25, May 2, and May 9).

PROGRAM DATES: Participants are expected to attend at least three of the four online sessions. Participants are invited to attend optional in-person events, including a program launch in Annapolis on Saturday April 13, two field trips, and a graduation ceremony in Annapolis on Saturday May 18.

Become a CBF Certified Bay Steward and join us for an exciting educational program to learn about

  • Chesapeake Bay science and history,
  • data and progress on restoring the health of Bay fisheries,
  • the role of our small but mighty oysters,
  • the intersection of farms and water quality,and
  • litigation efforts to restore the Bay.

You'll also have the chance to attend optional in-person field trips while connecting with your neighbors and community.

Educational sessions will take place on four consecutive Thursdays, April 18-May 9, from 6-8 pm, virtually on Zoom, to allow for greatest flexibility when joining. Virtual connection details will be sent to participants ahead of program start date. Participants are expected to attend at least three of the four sessions.

We will also offer in-person field trips (optional to attend, but encouraged for all participants) to sites that will explore the concepts being learned throughout the program.

To offset costs of field trips and sessions, we set the price of this six-week program at $25 per participant. However, we do not wish for cost to hinder anyone's ability to participate. GEOGRAPHIC RESTRICTIONS: Session topics have been tailored to Cambridge and Eastern Shore residents, but all Maryland residents are welcome to register.

AGE RESTRICTIONS: This course is tailored to adult learners, but is open to ages 4th grade and up.

ACCESSIBILITY: This program will be held online, with optional in-person field trips. Attendees will be able to join sessions via Internet or via phone. Recordings of the virtual sessions will be shared with participants. The main language of this program is English.
