** This is a Nansemond Indian Nation restoration event. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is assisting in volunteer recruitment and the Department of Forestry will be providing technical assitance. Communication about the event will be through CBF.**
Join the Nansemond Indian Nation for a tree-planting event at Mattanock Town on March 1st and 2nd. The Tribe will be planting 450 native trees as part of its ongoing efforts to restore and heal the land. The Tribe is committed to reconnecting its people to the local waterways, and believe that planting trees, removing invasive species, and restoring oysters are key to achieving this goal. You can help support them by participating in this event. Check out this amazing ArcGIS StoryMap created by the Tribe that showcases their history, present, and future.
You have two options for joining the Nansemond Indian Nation. Select one or both!
