Join CBF at a tree planting on a farm close to Gathland State Park. We will be restoring a stream side forest and wetland buffer as well as planting hedgerows between adjacent cornfields.

We will plant over 1,000 native trees and shrubs on approximately five acres. This farm is immediately downstream from a farm CBF volunteers planted in 2022.

These trees help improve water quality, reduce downstream flooding, and sequester carbon to help mitigate climate change. Come learn about regenerative agriculture and its role in mitigating climate change, improving water quality and healthy soils for the next generation of farmers. All attendees will receive a free calendar and a consumer’s guide to supporting regenerative agriculture in Maryland.

Funding for the planting is through WGL Energy and its Carbon Reduction Funds.
